If you are a nature photographer, Grandview Tall Timber Resort is your perfect spot to get those great shots.  The animals are abundant, and since we are in a National Park, they are not hunted and it's pretty easy to get close for some great shots.  The following pictures were taken by Dean Litwiller.

Bald Eagle (This one has been tagged by Park Service)

The Martin Island Quads, mama bear had 4 cubs!

Lonely baby bear cub. This is one of the quad's and he didn't like the water.  Mama and the other three cubs had left Martin Island and swam over to Sugarbush, leaving this guy by himself.

Whitetail buck on one of the islands.

Another mama bear and babies.

Moose in the spring. Spring and fall are a great time for seeing animals up close.

The Otters have good fishing at the docks also.

This guy was going to join the otter for breakfast!  In the parks history, no one has ever been injured by a bear.  They are a pretty docile and shy creature.
Returning from down south!

Wolf pup

Dean took this picture near the Grassy Island Group just a few hundred yards from the resort.

Dean Litwiller took all these pictures in and around Grandview Tall Timber Resort. Spring and fall can be an incredible time to see the park critters up close as Dean's photos show. (The wolves, obviously, were in the winter.)
