Fishing for walleye, smallmouth and northern pike is one activity that Grandview Tall Timber guests come to Lake Kabetogama to enjoy. Lake Kabetogama, Namakan Lake and Rainy Lake are world class fishing lakes known for their walleye production as well as jumbo black crappies, huge smallmouth bass, and giant northern pike. Our location in Voyageurs National Park offers access to 83,000 acres of open water to fish on. Lake Kabetogama and Namakan Lake are productive fishing spots all year. If you wish, you can boat to the Kettle Falls portage where anglers can access even more incredible game fish holes on the south eastern portion of Rainy Lake. Some of our guests wish to fish the Canadian waters of Namakan and Rainy Lakes. You will need to obtain a Remote Access Border Crossing permit to enter Canadian waters. Of course, you will need an Ontario Non-Resident Fishing License By Calling here or is obtainable at most ports of entry. Additionally, you will need to purchase Canadian bait if you wish to fish with live bait. DO NOT cross into Canada with any live bait purchased in the US and DO NOT bring any alcoholic beverages into Canada! The Canadian officials are a humorless group and you will pay!
Lake Kabetogama and Namakan Lake have special regulations to assure quality fishing today and in the future.
